Yesterday felt boring in comparison to Wednesday. Still, there were some stories of interest in South Florida.
Yesterday in Miami...
- Former Heat center Shaquille O'Neal (it feels so weird to write that) is introduced to the Phoenix Suns. His comments regarding the "selfish" players on the Heat team were subtle, but very interesting. I was hoping his departure would be a quiet one.
- Without Shaq or their two new acquisitions, the Heat fall apart in the 4th quarter and lose to Philadelphia 101-84. Wade had a rough outing, but every loss counts this season.
- The Florida Panthers blew a chance to get into a first place tie in the Southeast division. They are now 2 points behind Washington for the 3rd seed.
- Forgot to mention that Signing Day 2008 wasn't even over yet when WQAM suggested Miami already had 4 silent commits for the 2009 season. As of now, we have only offered a handful of bonafide stars, so if that were remotely true, it would mean very good things ahead for us.
- Former Dolphin and Oiler LB John Grimsley died from a gun cleaning accident. Sad story.
- Another sad story I had partially repressed until now, Sean Taylor's autopsy shows the fatal bullet passed through both of his legs.
