My Advice to Recruitniks

Stay off the boards tonight. Do your homework, spend time with the family, watch TV. Do anything you would normally do, because it's going to get nasty tonight.

Rumors are circulating about just about every recruit that is uncommitted, as well as some of the guys that are already verbals. It's tough to sift through the talk and recognize what is bs and what is the truth.

For example, Brandon Harris has been called a Cane lock, a UCF lean, and a Buckeye surprise by several different "sources" in the last 25 hours. Many people don't know what they're talking about, or might just be making stuff up as they go along. I myself don't have the inside scoop on any of these guys, but I relay what I feel is the most relevant and trustworthy news to you guys.

If you get too invested in tonight's rumor mongering, you're bound to be let down tomorrow when one of the kids don't come here.

For what it's worth, I do have a few of these rumors that have some legitimacy to them. Jeremy Lewis is probably not signing with the Canes tomorrow, which means we lose a DT when we already are thin on the line. Kendal Thompkins is probably going to stick. Some people have Streeter as definitely a Cane, others like myself feel that he is going to be a Gamecock.

Bryant has been pegged a UM or an FSU commit. Nobody knows for sure about Harper. Martavious Odoms, who had previously been reported to be heading to UM on a track schollie, might not come here after all. Nick Perry is still a longshot.

It's really a convoluted mess with less than 6 hours left till signing day. For now, just relax and hope for the best tomorrow. I expect a very good day for the Canes. We might just end up with the top class in the country.
