Signing Day: Final

1pm:

Brandon Harris commits to the U! Excellent pickup by Randy Shannon. The 4/5 star CB will get some serious playing time next season and pushes Miami into the Top 3 classes overall. In my opinion, it's easily the best class in the country, but several of our players are underrated, particularly by Scout.com

Watching his interview after the announcement, I have to say I really like the kid. He wanted to make a decision for himself regardless of where his BTW teammates were going. He went about his recruitment the right way. Had he gone elsewhere I would have been upset, but would have wished him well.

Speaking of DBs, we lost Herman Davidson to UNC. I was under the impression he was all but a lock as a package deal with Vaughn Telemaque, but the past few days had rumors of him going to UNC. I guess the class didn't need another safety in it. Oh well. Good luck to him there. Our day is done guys, there's really nobody else to wait for, except maybe Martavious Odoms.

Noon:

Jamie Harper commits to Clemson. Not a surprise there, considering he was always a package deal with buddy Daniel Andrews. I thought he might sneak into FSU because they always find a way to get top guys on NSD.

Nick Perry to USC is official now as well, so he's gone.

TJ Bryant picks at 12:30pm. UPDATE: Everyone is saying he picked USC, which is a bit of a surprise, but considering their national recruiting presence, not that much of a shocker. Tough loss for the Canes, considering many felt he was silently committed to the U.

The early morning euphoria is wearing off a bit, but if Harris picks us in 30 minutes, we'll be fine.

11am:

After looking into it a bit, apparently Nick Perry hasn't signed with anyone yet. So there's still a chance he goes to Miami. I still think it's Michigan though.

Aside from that, we got LOIs from Regis and Marti. Travis Benjamin and Andrew Smith also signed theirs. Most of our verbals have signed their letters of intent.

Also, word is Randy Shannon told PJ "no", regarding rumors that Johnson had tried to come back to this class. Fun.

10am:

HUGE morning for the Canes. Randy Shannon has dominated the early round of commitments, and things are looking bright for Miami.

Ramon Buchanon has pulled another switcharoo and has recommitted to the Canes. Not sure how I feel about the flip flops, but I'm sure he had a good reason to change his mind.

Tommy Streeter shocks many and follows his MNW brethren to the U. My South Carolina prediction was wrong, and I'm happy about it.

Ben Jones also commits to the U, though thats not much of a surprise. He was a huge commit because of the needs on the OL and DL.

Jeremy Lewis and Kendal Thompkins confirmed their commitments, despite rumors that they were heading to UNC and Nebraska, respectively. Marcus Robinson also signed his letter of intent, after suggestions he might stray at the final minute.

OL Brandon Washington also confirms his commitment, making it 8 guys we sign from the MNW squad. Huge.

Not everything was perfect, but you can't expect to land them all. Nick Perry didn't go to Michigan, but instead went to USC. I felt he was staying home but USC was always an option, so good luck to him there.

Corey Liuget stuck with his original decision to go to Illinois, and PJ has announced he is still going to LSU despite his academic troubles.

I would love to have Nick Perry in this class, but it'll be a tough pickup. I haven't harbored any hard feelings towards PJ, but I'm impressed with Shannon. On a squad needing CBs, (if the rumor is true) it must have been tough to tell someone capable of playing as a true freshman "No".
