Heat Do-Over?

I didn't think it was possible. In fact, I even criticized the front office for making such a dumb request from the NBA. Do-overs only happen in the playground, right?

Wrong. Apparently the NBA has decided to give us the 52 seconds of the Atlanta game back thanks to the the Atlanta scorers having fouled out Shaq with only 5 fouls in the game. Down by 1, the Heat then went on to lose 117-111 in OT.

In addition, the Hawks are going to be fined $50,000 for the negligence.

The next time we play the Hawks, they plan on resetting the game clock to where it should have been before the error and they are replaying the game from there. After that game is over, the Heat and Hawks will resume with the second game of their "doubleheader."

Such an action is so rare by NBA standards that I didn't even know do-overs were possible. The last time it happened it was in 1982, so this isn't something that happens every day.

Theoretically we should hope Miami can win that last 52 seconds and then the following game to get two Ws in one night. However, seeing as how we haven't been able to close any games of late and how this team is heading for the lottery anyway, we might as well just forfeit the two games at this point.
