Armando Salguero of the Herald reported that GM Jeff Ireland has taken a flight to Dallas presumably to pick up Tony Sparano and bring him back to Miami for final negotiations regarding a contract offer.
It is expected that the negotiations will run smoothly and Sparano should be hired within 48 hours.
This pretty much confirms what everyone knew by now: that Sparano was the guy Parcells wanted to hire when he stepped foot in Davie, and that any other interview was just for show barring some unforeseen circumstance. Frazier, Schwartz, and Ryan never had a chance at this job.
PFT also reports that the whole Mike Tice thing was unsubstantiated and isn't going to happen.
