I think that a daily post of quick hits regarding the notable events going on in South Florida sports is more feasible than a daily State of Miami column. I do intend on making that piece a weekly or monthly contribution to the blog though.
Yesterday in Miami....
- Shaq practices for the first time since seeing a hip specialist in California. Refuses to speak to reporters about a potential return to the court tomorrow.
- The Dolphins interview Jim Schwartz for the Head Coach position, he leaves probably without an offer on the table.
- Tony Sparano is now entirely available to be hired (more on this in the next post) after the Cowboys lose on Sunday to the Giants.
- Alonzo Mourning "retires", then doesn't, according to the Miami Heat's website. He's gone regardless of the goof.
