Blah. That's what came out of my mouth when I took a peek at the results from tonight's game vs the Hornets. Not only did the Heat lose, they got blown out of the building 114-88. This losing streak is really becoming ridiculous. It's one thing to be bad, but the Heat are god-awful.
The only plus that may have come from this game was the excellent offensive performance of Mark Blount. In 38 minutes, Blount dropped 27 points on 13-16 shooting. The plus is that it is a small showcase of his skills before the trade deadline next month. Hopefully someone will take the bait and actually consider him a potential contributor and give us some cap relief.
Dwyane Wade had a poor shooting night and really should be looking to take the next few weeks off. Come back after the All-Star break. They've lost 10 straight with you, what else do you have to lose? He's killing himself out there for a team that I can't fathom winning 5 more games this entire season.
We did see the brief return of Dorell Wright though. Hopefully he will be able to contribute some over the next few weeks, to either get in a rhythm with DWade and DCook, or to again show his value for a future trade.
Two last notes: Luke Jackson is still terrible and needs to be cut. It's just the principle of the thing. We know he can't be replaced with someone who is much better, but come on. Second, Bobby Jackson went nuts. He made all 9 of his shots, 7 three points, and added 4 boards and 4 assists to boot. Blah.
