Live BCS Title Game Diary

Updates over the course of the game...

My prediction: LSU 31, Ohio State 17. Though I have a bad feeling about this one. Ohio State will probably end up winning just to spite me.

First Quarter

Buckeyes get ball first. Just when it looks like a 3 and out, Chris Wells explodes for 65 and OSU is up 7-0 already. LSU can't respond and nearly fumbles the ball into their own endzone. Not looking good for Buckeye haters. (8:33pm)

Wow, whats wrong with LSU? 10-0 Buckeyes already. (8:38pm)

Second Quarter

LSU finally gets into rhythm on both sides of the ball. Nice quick pass to tie the game up at 10 (9:09pm)

Buckeyes respond well with a nice drive. Beanie Wells is ridiculous. Dorsey is making no impact whatsoever so far tonight. Doesn't bode well for the Dolphins. LSU gets lucky that OSU drops an easy TD on 3rd down. FG is probably coming up. (9:18pm)

LSU blocks the FG attempt. Sweet. However, they screwed up the recovery attempt. It was an easy TD if someone picks up the ball and just runs with it. (9:20pm)

The Tigers are starting to roll on offense. Excellent 3rd down touchdown pass by Matt Flynn and LSU takes their first lead of the game 17-10. (9:29pm)

Momentum has fully shifted in LSU's favor. A fantastic interception caused by a blitz leads to another Tigers touchdown from the 1. 24 straight points scored against the vaunted Ohio State defense. (9:40pm)

Third Quarter

Ohio State is losing their composure. Those two straight personal fouls are killer. They should have the ball at this point. (10:33pm)

And the flood gates have opened. This is starting to get ugly. 31-10 LSU (10:35pm)

Bad pick by Flynn leads to an opening for the Buckeyes, 31-17 and they're back in it. (10:57pm)

Fourth Quarter

Not much about the 4th quarter except for a vicious hit on the Buckeyes QB. I had the perfect score down to the last minute but LSU and Ohio State screwed me with last minute TDs. Oh well. Had the spread right?

I have to congratulate the Tigers for a nice season and another title victory. It's not for sure that they were the very best team, but they won the title game and thats what counts. Ohio State, you again proved how overrated you are. Thanks.
