Yesterday in Miami: 01/19/08

With nothing to root for down here, I would bet most South Florida sports fans are looking towards tomorrow's conference title games in the NFL.

Yesterday in Miami...

  • The Miami Heat tease us again before ultimately losing their 12th straight game to Portland. Wade has to be rocking back and forth in a corner somewhere.
  • The Panthers give Jacque Martin his 500th career victory as a head coach in a 2-1 win at New Jersey. They remain 4 points out of the 3rd seed, but only 3 points out of a playoff spot.
  • The Marlins signed 3 players who otherwise would have gone to arbitration. Gregg got 2.5M, Mitre received 1.2M, and Amezaga 945k.
  • Chris Perry is leaving the University of Miami to go home to Texas.
  • UM replaces Marquis Mosely with Aubrey Hill as WR coach.
  • The Marlins stadium plan took a hit as the city commissioners delayed the vote yet again.
